Perhaps this is an attempt to encroach on the Microsoft "Age of Empires" games? Personally I'm spending too much time playing Civ Rev on the iPhone/iPod Touch. It is simplified from Civ 4 and needs different tactics, but is still a great game. Im so obsessed with this series. Have been for many years now. I go into Civ stages like I'll play for 5 months then get bored with it, then another 5 months goes by and I'll start playing again.
