In Colonization you will be challenged to guide your people from the oppressive motherland; discover the New World; and negotiate, trade and fight as they acquire power and battle for their freedom and independence. Usher forth a new generation of Sid Meier’s Colonization with gameplay built on the award-winning Civilization IV engine, providing the beautiful visuals, famously addictive gameplay and endless fun that are synonymous with Sid Meier strategy games.
Note : Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: Colonization does not require the original Civilization IV game to play.

Can’t wait. Im so obsessed with this series. Have been for many years now. I go into Civ stages like I’ll play for 5 months then get bored with it, then another 5 months goes by and I’ll start playing again.
By the way for some reason I can’t find any info on the Aspyr website about it…?

Not sure about all the “oppressive motherland” stuff… Perhaps this is an attempt to encroach on the Microsoft “Age of Empires” games?
Personally I’m spending too much time playing Civ Rev on the iPhone/iPod Touch. It is simplified from Civ 4 and needs different tactics, but is still a great game.
