Guitar Rig Update : 4.0.8
Native Instruments have released an update to Guitar Rig 4 making the latest release 4.0.8. Despite the small revision number the free update offers substantial improvements to the already brilliant guitar processing system. As you know we are big fans of Guitar Rig and have produced a number of video tutorials on how to get started (view the full list here).
The 4.0.8 Upgrade includes :

- - Added expert panel with assigned parameters to all Modifiers
- - Added Save buttons to the toolbar above the rack
- - Added preset selection to component save drop down menu
- - Improved Tuner algorithm

- - Reduced Loopmachine memory footprint and improved cache prefetching (Guitar Rig 4 Pro only)

- - Extended automation parameter list with 512 parameters

Thanks for the review. I agree, Guitar Rig 4 is a brilliant update. On the downside I think you have overlooked a major missing feature in Guitar Rig 4 that was present in previous versions. I am talking about the snap shots. With snap shots the user was able to assign to each of the Kontrol switches a set of parameters of the same sound, without having to tip tap dance to switch on and off the effects. In an example, you could have a rich clean spacey sound then switch to a dry crunch or distorted sound with all the amp and effects levels exactly how you wanted them at the push of one switch. Or go from, say, subtle effected lead to lush screaming tone. Chorus, delay, exactly any setting required for the section of the song you are playing easily available within the same sound. No bank ups and downs and mad searching through the sounds for that particular setting. This feature is invaluable for live performance, so much so that I haven’t used GR4 once in live gigs, sticking to GR3 which has a lower quality in sound but has the snap shot feature. Bye
