The iPad : Reader Poll

Now that some websites have suggested international availability of the iPad on 24th April we want to know what our readers think of the new device. Will you be jumping ? Are you excited or are you perfectly happy with a Macbook and iPhone ? We are going to run the reader poll for two weeks and monitor how opinions change.

I’m going to buy one but as I live in the US I’m going for the 3G version. I use the 3G on my phone so much that I would be lost without it on the iPad.

I may buy one for my Mom who wants something to supplement her iMac – she wants something for the living room, but doesn’t like laptops. This may be the perfect thing for her.

For myself, I’m waiting for now. The version we know about doesn’t do several things that I require before it will be a usable alternative to a laptop for me.

Can i check something? By saying “Now that Apple have announced international availability of the iPad on 24th April” do you actually mean “Now that some websites are featuring rumours that Apple will launch the iPad in Canada on 24th April”? or have I missed something somewhere? No date on the Canadian Apple site, no date on the UK Apple site. I don’t think that counts as announcing international availability, but what do I know?

Subscription costs are the obstacle. I already pay for internet access and iPhone fees which are on contract.
