Poll Results : Your Favourite Twitter App for iPhone
They say choice is a good thing but this week I have struggled with selecting a twitter client for my iPhone. There are so many great clients on the market all offering something different, all with slightly different user interfaces but how do you pick a favourite ?
Despite the massive choice in iPhone twitter applications the official application (formerly Tweetie 2) wins the race by a massive margin. Personally I have been jumping between a number of applications with Echofon being a particular favourite.

I don’t get paid for saying this but I still want to say that TwitBird Pro is the best. Push Notification between TwitBird users is always free. Tell me how many of them does that that, even the official one from Twitter doesn’t support any damn PUSH.

I, like others, am having a hard time finding my perfect Twitter app for iPhone. I’ve probably tried more than a dozen. Still, I find myself returning to TwitBird Pro and Osfoora — and sometimes Echofon and Twittelator. While Twittelator has everything I like, the linking system bugs me. I like Echofon because links are right in time line and you don’t have to go to a separate tweet window. but, TwitBird has everything you could possibly want, except handy tab-style navigation at bottom for quick links to lists, mentions, etc. You must go back to home screen to access anything. I just started trying Osfoora- and I like it’s clean interface but I’ve not used it enough to make statement one way or another.

Thanks for the tip about Twitbit Dan, gave the lite version a try. It’s similar to Twitbird, but IMHO not quite as good. It would be really helpful if people say WHY they prefer their choice of app, as there might be some great features that some of us have missed while testing these apps, or functions added in recent versions that we were missing. Like this topic v much!

I can’t believe Twittelator is not on that list. It’s by far the best I’ve used. Twitterific is my second favourite, with Tweetie/Twitter for iPhone being way down the list.

Been using Tweetie (now Twitter) for as long as I can remember, but I recently went from Twitteriffic on the iPad to Osfoora. Loved that client so much on the iPad that I bought it for iPhone.

Definitely go with the official Twitter app. It’s got all the features of a paid app with a nice clean interface, but for free.

Other than the official Twitter app, I use Twitbit quite a bit. Lots of features, push, themes, and it looks great too! I don’t know why it hasn’t become more popular…

Also none of the above. Seesmic for iPhone. I like how fast it is on my first generation iPod Touch.

I’ve spent the last week doing the same thing. Eventually I narrowed it down to:
Twitter (Official), Osfoora, Hootsuite & Twitbird (premium but any would be OK)
I need a Twitter app which is really easy & quick to send DMs with as this is now I input a lot of my tasks into Nozbe, so some of the ones in the suggested list are not good for that.
Quickest is Osfoora, but on saved searches it goes directly to the latest tweet, not the one that you last read
Easiest is Twitter, but on Trending topics, if a tweet is retweeted, it goes to the top of the list as most recent, so you keep reading the same old thing
Hootsuite is good, but I think it’s more for people managing several accounts etc etc and it wouldn’t let me go into profile and bring up followers.
Most useful so far is Twitbird as you can put in the settings for it to refresh the saved searches too. That way when you start the app, it takes a bit longer to refresh, but when it has, all new comments on your timeline, dms, mentions and saved searches are all present and correct! I also like being able to change the background on the bubble tweets them. If only they didn’t have that irritating espresso splash screen.
Overall, I have left all four on my iphone. I will use each one for a whole day and then see which I found least irritating!
I don’t think the ‘perfect’ Twitter client is out there yet, at least not for me.

None of the above. It’s now TweetAgora http://tweetagora.com/ even if it is a bit buggy. It has brilliant filters.
