I am pretty new to the whole Mac Mini Media Center system and am excited about the whole new area of learning it offers. I need to work out the best way of handling photos, music and getting Plex to scrape my TV recordings more accurately. Elgato have pretty covered most of our video needs with TV encoders (and EyeTV) for our TV capturing and editing needs. The Turbo.264 HD allows us to encode footage directly from AVCHD camcorders and virtually any other video format.
When it comes down to watching and recording TV on a computer Apple definitely have some of the best of systems available.
