I am a student in Australia doing my Masters in Cross Disciplinary Arts at COFA, at the University of NSW. My two chosen disciplines are Video Art and illustration.

Apparently I have to work out my processes by looking at people's work I admire. We have been asked to research methods, disciplines and materials

I'm not sure where to take my study, but I know children's illustration, illustrative short film making, visual healing (helping people heal through visualisation and visual reality) and stop motion has always interested me. The artist Williams Kendrick illustrates, but then uses stop motion to create his art. That really interests me.
I'm stuck really.
Can I ask all of you, what you think. I use a graphics pad, can use Painter, Photoshop...is there a way to incorporate any of that in a stop motion effect type video? Do you know of any programs equipment I must have, or should think about, or artist I should think about?
Sorry to make it sound so personal, but I'm stuck and am wondering where to take this all.

To be honest I would stick with Photoshop for Rotoscope following the tutorial http://www.totalapps.net/tutorials/how-to-rotoscope-with-your-bamboo-tablet/ you can control the background etc We have had a stack of success with it as a workflow.

I read somewhere on this site that there is a way to use a remote feature for I Stop Motion animations. Sometimes I'm a bit far from my keyboard when I'm animating a figure and I'm wondering what to do in terms of some remote feature so that record can be hit without me having to leave my animation stand and go back and forth to my work station.

Any ideas please?
